Sample Space

The sample space is the set of all possible sample points.

A sample space $S$ may be either finite, countably infinite or uncountably infinite.

• Finite: $S=\{1,2\}$
• Countably Infinite: $S=\{1,2,3,5,8,13,21,...\}$ or $S=\mathbb{N}$
• Uncountably Infinite: $S=\mathbb{R}\ast 2$
